Firm Focus on Industry Growth and ICT Jobs
This week TasICT signed the Technology Industry Skills Compact between the Tasmanian Government, TasICT and the Australian Computer Society.
This is the culmination of months of work by many people – and Georgie Brown and the entire Workforce Development and Diversity Sub Committee deserve credit for steering this compact to inception.
The Skills Compact and associated Action Plan promotes tech as a career choice for learners in high schools and college – and make it easier for them to move into vocational training to study tech. It will play a part in helping learners get tech ready, and help our businesses adopt a mindset of employing locals as much as possible.
You can check out more about the Technology Industry Skills Compact at Skills Tasmania.
