Tasmanian businesses looking to grow or re-establish their ‘off-island’ trade of products or services, are encouraged to apply for funding under the Accelerating Trade Grant Programme.
Local operators can apply for up to $10,000 in matched funding to expand their presence and introduce Tasmanian products and services to the world with activities that will be completed by June 2021. Eligible activities include promotions, market research, business matching services, travel and inbound buyer visits to Tasmania. Attending trade shows, events and study tours are activities which are also included in the guidelines.
The Tasmanian Government has announced that additional funding has been committed to the Accelerating Trade Grant Programme which has been updated to recognise and reflect the impact of COVID-19, supporting new e-commerce opportunities and increased online promotion.
The co-contribution scheme is in line with initiative 4.1 under the Tasmanian Trade Strategy 2019-2025, aimed at helping Tasmanian businesses collaborate, expand their presence and introduce Tasmanian products and services to mainland Australia and the rest of the world.
